HISTORY
Tri-State Christian Academy continues a long tradition of quality Christian education in Cecil County, Maryland. For nearly sixty years, Elkton Christian School/Academy was operated as a ministry of the Baptist Bible Church (now Crossroads Bible Church). Down through the years, hundreds of young people were educated and many went on to become pastors, missionaries, educators, doctors, lawyers, business owners etc., and they have impacted “their” world for Jesus Christ. The school received its distinction as an approved non-public school by the Maryland State Department of Education in 2012 and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International. TSCA is a thriving, safe, educational community with an outstanding staff of loving teachers and wonderful student body with supportive parents and grandparents. God has been good and we are trusting in Him to continue His blessing on our school.
MISSION
We seek to provide a balanced academic education within a diverse learning environment by integrating scholastic and spiritual instruction in the following four Areas of Focus: Scholarship, Leadership, Followership, and Citizenship.
Educational Philosophy & What We Teach:
Scholarship: We affirm the Biblical teaching that man is created in God’s image. We, therefore, appreciate inquiring minds, the desire to create, freedom to explore, and the will to achieve order as expressions of God’s image within us. Therefore, we seek to enrich each student’s scholastic experience by providing academic education within a diverse learning environment that will enable them to acquire the knowledge, skills, and virtue they will need to succeed.
Leadership: We develop each student’s character and competence in “the stewardship of leadership” so that each may effectively influence others to do good and reach their God-given potential.
Followership: Tri-State Christian Academy reflects a Christian philosophy of life. We are a Christ-centered school. Therefore, we teach and mentor our students, both to have and develop, a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ in order to become His followers.
Citizenship: We teach our students the national history of the United States of America to inspire each to fulfill his/her role in serving and preserving the freedoms our country exists to provide and defend.
core VALUES
We are creating a school and educational experience that is second-to-none by embracing and embodying the following 10 core values:
1. God’s Glory – At TSCA everything comes second to Jesus and His kingdom.
2. Biblical Authority – At TSCA we teach God’s Word to become second nature.
3. Educational Fluency – At TSCA we help students to “take a second look, get a second opinion, and speak a second language” through research-based learning in order to grow intellectually, spiritually, physically, and relationally.
4. Personal Integrity – At TSCA we never give lying a second thought.
5. Worshipful Quality – At TSCA we do nothing second-rate.
6. Sacrificial Humility – At TSCA we go the second mile.
7. Relational Unity – At TSCA we give each other second chances.
8. Individual Diversity – At TSCA no one is second-class.
9. Organizational Creativity – At TSCA we are building the second wonder of the Educational World.
10. Meaningful Priority – At TSCA we don’t do second, what must be done first.
